As 2025 comes to a close and we look ahead to a new year, I want to express what an honor it has been to serve as your President. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of representing this association and for the trust you have placed in me throughout the past year.

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to our Senior Officer leadership team for their steady guidance, and to our exceptional staff for their tireless work on our behalf. Their dedication—day in and day out—ensures that we continue to push back against the headwinds facing our industry and move forward with strength and purpose.

Together, we’ve accomplished meaningful progress. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, and I’m equally excited for the year ahead. The incoming leadership team is poised to build on this momentum, and I have every confidence they will continue to deliver results for our members and our industry.

As we look forward to 2026, I encourage each of you to stay engaged and reaffirm your commitment to the four pillars of the HBA of Michigan that guide our work: Legal Action Fund, Skilled to Build Michigan Foundation, Friends of Housing Political Action Committee and NAHB’s BUILD-PAC. Your involvement is what makes this association effective, resilient, and influential.

I’ve always been a fan of great quotes, so I’ll leave you with one of my favorites from Michael Jordan:
